IBM NetVista® Olympic Sweepstakes

The Challenge
The IBM NetVista marketing team decided to leverage IBM’s participation in the 2000 Sydney Summer Olympics to generate awareness and interest in this new family of desktop computers. A sweepstakes promotion was designed to feed a worldwide marketing database that would be shared among IBM, Kodak, Visa International, and Xerox – all partners in this promotion.

The ACG Solution
Develop a Flash-based presentation and HTML pages that appeal to a worldwide audience. Accommodate design specifications imposed by identity standards from IBM, the International Olympic Committee, and all the prize partners, as well as each participating country’s specialized legal requirements.

Implementation
An online presence was created that included three components. A Flash-based introduction tied primary sponsors IBM and Visa to the Olympic ideals. A series of HTML-based pages followed that described the promotion, listed prizes, and provided required legal notices. Lastly, ACG designed a registration page template that the IBM marketing database team could use on the fly to capture entries in real-time, on a geography-by-geography basis.
